The cornerstone venture. A 40,000 sqft CLIA-certified laboratory at 6000 Pelham Road in Greenville, South Carolina. Built over 15 years into South Carolina's leading commercial clinical reference laboratory — and, in 2020, the first private lab in the state to receive FDA validation for COVID-19 testing.

The holding structure under which Premier Medical and its sister operations scaled. Five laboratories across South Carolina, North Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Florida. At its peak, 450 employees across the enterprise. In 2022: a $51 million capital investment creating 185 new jobs in Greenville County, endorsed by the SC Secretary of Commerce and published on the SC Governor's official .gov site.

Infrastructure

Physical infrastructure matters. When COVID hit, we had a 40,000 sqft validated laboratory with a team already in place. That's why we were first.

The lab at 6000 Pelham Road is more than an address — it's the reason we could move faster than any competitor in the state when the pandemic hit. A validated CLIA laboratory, a PhD-led R&D bench, a trained operator team, and the redundant capacity to scale to hundreds of thousands of tests per day with pooling.

That infrastructure didn't appear in 2020. It was built brick by brick over 15 years, starting in 2007, so that when the moment came, we didn't have to wait. We ran.

Today the facility continues to support diagnostic operations, and its lessons are embedded in every new AI-powered healthcare platform being built today.
